The Mystery, Inc gang hear reports of a “bat creature” on the loose. What they find are Batman and Robin, whom they’ve joined forces with in the past. This time it isn’t Joker and Penguin but Man-Bat. Our heroes team up again, but are distracted by crooks using the “bat creature” panic to rob a mall. But the REAL Man-Bat is there, too.
What they got right: I like the idea of having the gang team-up with other crimefighters, and looking much better than The New Scooby-Doo Movies. Using Batman and Robin makes sense since they’re DC characters, a popular draw, and have teamed with the gang in two separate adventures. I do love that Batman and Robin are in their classic outfits rather than the New 52 stuff…
What they got wrong: ..but they don’t match the Hanna-Barbera character models like the other characters. Man-Bat, to my untrained eye (if my own drawing is any indication) seem to be somewhere between the two styles.
