Nightwing #13

EDITOR: Scott Peterson

Batman joins Nightwing in his search for evidence against Blockbuster. Bruce even gets to meet Dick’s apartment super and his HQ, letting him know that he has a trust fund that he could be using to improve operations. The search for the next guy who can pin something on Blockbuster, however, could lead to the original Dynamic Duo becoming breakfast!

What they got right: It’s good seeing Dick and Bruce working together again. The revelation of a trust fund (being maintained by Lucius Fox, so it should be a good one) offers Dick independence but still an opportunity to set up shop properly.

What they got wrong: The story felt a bit short but I blame the poor use of space for a lot of large panels (3 to 5 per page), splash pages, and even a double splash page. And this still isn’t artwork you’d want to show off.

Recommendation: By itself it has some revelations but maybe next issue can help me render a final verdict. There’s not really a lot happening in this one.
