Another problem with variant covers is if you’re late you get the lame cover.

In both 20XX and 21XX the Walker is stopped, but hints of future enemies appear. This includes Payne returning to 20XX, nuttier than ever!
What they got right: This was a good parallel story arc, and if they do a Mega Man X series or miniseries this is a good setup to another game adaptation.
What they got wrong: Did we need an origin for why Zero uses a laser blade?
Recommendation: A good storyline that’s worth a read.
Foresight means wondering which one I’m supposed to be rooting for.
