Reading so much Captain Planet this week made me think tonight’s BW entry should come from that comic. Since you won’t be seeing most of these issues in my collection again. So how can I go wrong with a nuclear-powered giant? And for once it isn’t Godzilla.

“Ghost” round 12
The Battlefield: Captain Planet And The Planeteers #4 (Marvel; January, 1992) “If You Can’t Nuke ‘Em…Join ‘Em”
The Promoters: Barry Dutter (writer), Pat Broderick (penciler), Bruce Patterson & Ralph Cabrera (inkers), Sarra Mossoff (colorist), and John Costanza (letterer)
Duke Nukem…no, not him…has pumped himself full of an unstable form of radiation. The gang calls in Captain Planet and goes to help people trapped in the nearby buildings.
Then Duke takes his shot.
However, you don’t get to be a superhero without noticing your villain’s screw-up.
And sure enough that unstable energy gets used up real fast.
Remember to be careful what nuclear radiation you absorb. Unless your Firestorm. Or Godzilla. Or Mr. Nukem up there. Or….wait, have this PSA instead.
Words to live by…possibly literally.
