I remember seeing Diana Schutz‘s name on the Comico Robotech comics, mostly because one of the characters was Dana Sterling and sometimes I read her name as Dana Schultz (hence the above picture) instead of Diana Schutz. Most recently (and by “recently” I mean 25 years) she’s been editor at Dark Horse, but she is announcing her retirement, as of today. In an interview with CBR’s Josie Campbell, Schutz shows what a good editor is supposed to do! Good luck on your future whatever, Ms. Schutz.

I do remember Diana Schultz’s involvement with Comico. She was very much a part of bringing the Johnny Quest title to Comico. I always remember her editorials in Johnny Quest where she would talk about watching Johnny Quest when she was a kid in the 1960s. It was a cartoon that had a major impact on her. Thus, when she was an adult, she enjoyed having the opportunity to be involved in the implementation of a Johnny Quest comic book for the 1980s. Hope she enjoys her retirement and gets to travel around the world like Johny, Hadji, Bandit, Dr Quest, Race Bannon, and Jade in the Johnny Quest crew got to do!
