First, we’ve been informed by Spacebooger that due to some personal events, the voting for this round won’t be going up until Saturday morning. So keep the link for tomorrow to vote. Remember, you don’t need to join the forum to vote, only to comment. The link will be in the image at the end of the article as usual. Now on to business.
For the last round prior to the Prize Fight I bring Darkhawk to the fold. As you may recall from Tuesday, our hero and his friends in the New Warriors were hoping to fix things that went wrong in their lives, having been tricked by Zarrko the Tomorrow Man. Well, Darkhawk had an ace in the hole, a “bomb” that he uses to beat Zarrko at his own game. Zarrko’s bodyguard robot Servitor, however, plays by its own rules.
“Lights Out” round 12
The Battlefield: Darkhawk #29 (Marvel; July, 1993) “Past Shock”
The Promoters: Danny Fingeroth (writer), Tod Smith (penciler), Ian Akin (inker), Troy Sayers (colorist), and Bill Oakley (letterer)
Darkhawk gets himself invited back to Zarrko’s ship to disarm his bomb. Servitor welcomes him back with a big hug.
And then Darkhawk shows our villains what his Darkforce Blast can really do.
You have to think Zarrko is thinking that this could be him right now. I hope he has clean underwear, because what he’s wearing probably isn’t anymore.
Just a reminder that the Friday Night Fights will actually be Saturday MORNING Fights this week, which means the voting starts tomorrow morning this week. If the link doesn’t work, just head to Spacebooger.com and you can see the other entrants there. (Forum membership is NOT required to vote, only to comment.) And since this is the last round, you’ll have to wait until the next tournament to join in, but we could really use some new participants so feel free to pop in then.
