“Lost And Found”

PENCILER: Don Figueroa

COLORIST: Espen Grundetjern
LETTERER: Ben Lee
Jazz’s Autobot group reunites with the others currently on Earth, leaving the EDC behind, while the rest of the Autobots who were on Earth leave Cybertron to return. This fits into the plans of the Quintessons. Meanwhile, Bumblebee and Spike come across a woman in need of help as they discuss Bumblebee’s future with the Autobots and Spike’s desire to not get involved. The big event in this issue, however, is Megatron returning with his two drones and Predacons. Astrotrain is willing to join Megatron but Blitzwing, at least according to Megatron, refused and was destroyed. Shockwave has his gun arm blasted off by Megatron, replacing it with a cap that will kill him if he uses his powers. Now Megatron sets his sights on his next conquest: Earth!
What they got right: Megatron is back and it looks like we’re not going to get the IDW direction but have a return to the proper Autobot/Decepticon conflict. Plus, interesting things are happening on Earth, which sadly we won’t see much of since the next issue is the last of this run before Dreamwave’s meltdown.
What they got wrong: The letterer missed some of the white of the word balloons again, like he did last issue. I also don’t want to see Arcee end up with Springer when we were finally getting the Arcee/Hot Rod pairing I wanted to see in the original cartoon before “Rodimus Prime” got in the way, especially after the original Transformers Universe profiles from Marvel hinted at it. (One of my many problems with Rodimus over Hot Rod.)
Recommendation: I’m still sorry this ended just as things were really getting interesting. Pick this up if you can find it.
