Adam and Man-At-Arms take Evil-Lyn to the Sorceress. She discovers the source of her current state, but there is nothing she can do. She also learns Evil-Lyn is calling out for the man she used to love, Keldor. Only Keldor no longer exists since he was transformed into Skeletor. Knowing Skeletor won’t help her (although Adam thinks he might), the Faceless One agrees to King Hiss’s request, but he will need Skeletor, Evil-Lyn, and their magic staves. So the Snake Men invade Snake Mountain while most of Skeletor’s forces are hunting Evil-Lyn and capture Skeletor.
What they got right: Adam’s good, if not naive, nature shows through here as he really want to help Evil-Lyn, but he’s also hoping for a peaceful end to the fighting. Remember, this version of Adam grew up in a world where Keldor and his people were held behind the Mystic Wall, so he’s never really known evil until recently.
What they got wrong: This was a little gruesome for me. King Hiss wants to eat people, a Snake Man’s decapitated head is seen flying. This was still marketed to kids, right?
Recommendation: I’m still enjoying this story. It’s worth checking out.
So Evil-Lyn used to love Skeletor’s former self (Keldor). Interesting….. Perhaps, that is why she is so loyal to Skeletor.

That’s the reimagined series origin. It’s not what happened in the Filmation series or other comics. I give them credit for knowing how to develop villains without making them overly “sympathetic” and still evil.
