When the Faceless One won’t fall for King Hiss’s trick again, he forces him to give him the power to control Serpos anyway by threatening Evil-Lyn. Luckily for our local villains, He-Man, Man-At-Arms, Teela, and Fisto arrive. As the others battle the Snake Men, the Faceless One takes He-Man to another plane to seek his help in convincing Skeletor to heal Evil-Lyn, giving him a spell that will help if Hiss is able to control Serpos. Surprisingly Skeletor does help Evil-Lyn even though he would be willing to let her die. He takes her away when the Snake Men leave, because they have what they want, the power to both awaken and control Serpos. (continued in the episode “Awaken The Serpent”)
What they got right: Looks like Adam might have been right about Keldor still being somewhere inside Skeletor. I haven’t watched the episode in years so I don’t remember how necessary this story is to the main story and I’ve never known the official canon status of this comic, but it was a satisfying finale and good artwork.
What they got wrong: Again, it’s been so long since I’ve seen the episode that I can’t comment on the necessity of this storyline or its canon status.
Recommendation: I still recommend this series. It’s well written with great artwork and coloring. Pick it up when you can.
BW Media Spotlight 
Is that person on the cover supposed to be what Skeletor used to look like? This comic issue does sound interesting. Are you saying that these comics are based on the cartoon from the early 2000s? I’ve never seen any of those particular episodes, and now I’m curious to search for them on Youtube. Would the early 2000s MOTU cartoons also be on Youtube’s He-Man MOTU Channel just like the 80s Filmation episodes are? I’ll have to try to watch the “Awaken The Serpent” episode if I get a chance.
When I can find these back issues in a comic store, I’ll have to pick them up based on what you wrote. The only comic issue I have from this 2004 run is Issue # with Orko in it. I should be reading that one if not this weekend then definitely on St. Patrick’s Day (I have a half day early release from work that day).

The official channel is just for the Filmation show which Dreamworks currently holds the rights to if memory serves. The 2000s series isn’t up there but you can find it on DVD.
