Adam West is about to join the list of movie actors whose final movie will come out after their passing. (The list includes Heath Ledger, a different Joker.) After the success of Return Of The Caped Crusaders, the animated movie that reunited West, Burt Ward, and Julie Newmar, a second movie was recorded, this time with William Shatner playing a ’66-inspired Two-Face. (One episode did have a master of disguise named False Face, to clear up any false memories of there being a ’66 Two-Face already. This is also in league with what the Batman ’66 comics have been doing, reinterpreting villains who weren’t on the show in the show’s style. I wonder if they did the Killer Moth from the Batgirl “pilot” or went with their own design?) Well, one website is reporting that this cartoon will be completed. Even in animation I assume it will be the last movie featuring Adam West’s Batman because nobody can do it like he did. The tie-in comics may continue on though. I just hope West’s recording is good enough and stays that way.
