The project they’re talking about is a similar fan-produced experience touring the Enterprise for Star Trek: The Next Generation, until CBS intervened. (I think on their Facebook they mentioned it was because of actor likenesses, something they plan to avoid with The Orville. However, the person to most be concerned with about that is all in favor of this new venture.

Yep, Seth MacFarlane himself tweeted about the new project. Hopefully it will be a good one. Although I probably won’t be able to run it on this old computer and I can’t afford it anyway. (They can’t make a profit but they may have costs they can recoup through crowdfunding or something.) No word on a release date as far as I know but I’ve been out of it recently, which is why it took so long for me to post this after I found out about it.

Hello. There were a few different reasons for the previous closure 🙂
To answer your questions about The Orville, my computer is around 7-8 years old and runs it brilliantly, it will be first person and on VR. The first release which will be in around 3-4 weeks will be Stage 15, which is the first two decks (Bridge, Ed’s office; quarters and sickbay ), there will then be quarterly updates, adding the rest of the ship and gameplay.
It does cost quite a bit to make but Stage 15 will be completely free…if the fans love it, then we are very happy 🙂

    • Thank you for the information. It’s not so much the age of the computer but that it’s Vista (my laptop is XP) and I can’t afford to upgrade. It seems lately nothing works on this thing.
How will the gameplay side work? If I can get it to run I may well go over it for the site. Thank you again for the update. It’s interesting to hear from the creators of something I discuss and at least McFarlane is on your side with this one. What Disney/Fox’s response will be I’m not certain but I don’t know who owns the show given Fox’s name is in the title sequence.
