Batman investigates when the homeless start disappearing from Skid Row. He learns Kobra is behind it but is captured, the systems of the Batsuit damaged. As Bruce goes undercover to rescue him, Terry works on his own escape and together the two stop this cell’s plan to brainwash the homeless into their personal army, taking the victims away for detox and into a job training program and shelter for the homeless.

What they got right: The first Batman comic I ever owned had Batman stopping someone who was killing the homeless of Gotham so it’s nice to see Terry continue the tradition. We also get to see that he’s pretty clever in how he avoids the Kobra goons, while Bruce shows that he may be too old to be Batman but he isn’t too old to get out of the cave and help now and then, as well as how he can help Gothamites out as Bruce Wayne.

What they got wrong: I really can’t complain about anything. It was that good.

Recommendation: This issue falls shy of “must read” but it’s still a really good story to check out if you see it.
