YouTube decided to do it’s own broadcasting some years ago, creating ways to watch TV shows legally without going to another service and creating their own original programs, the only one of which I’ve seen get any real press being Cobra Kai, the Karate Kid spinoff. The originals were only available to YouTube Premium subscribers (formerly YouTube Red but I think the camera people took issue with it or something or maybe it was Redtube, the porno YouTube) who also get to watch the usual homemade content without ads. While being a Premium subscriber still has its benefits /Film is reporting that the YouTube originals already streaming will now be available to the general public with ads as they change the focus of their subscription content.
