It’s interesting how many shows exist about schools to teach kids how to be superheroes. Even as a kid we had Hero High, part of the “Kids Super Power Hour with Shazam!”, then you have movies like Sky High and two different incarnations of DC Super Hero Girls, one of which was also about a super hero high school (that would be the good one–no offense to Laura Faust but “My Little Pony-ing” Super Hero Girls doesn’t work for me), and I remember a comic that was about this concept as well.
However, none of them were created by Stan Lee (unless you count the X-Men) or starred Arnold Schwarzenegger in a co-production with China about a superhero kindergarten. I have to ask why this obsession with China lately in the entertainment world. Movie makers think about China when they create a movie, which is why the Ancient One was changed in Doctor Strange, there’s this huge controversy right now with Blizzard taking their prize back from a contest winner for supporting the protestors to Chinese government, and now this. Add in Lee’s daughter suing Pow! Entertainment for mishandling her late father’s IP and this is just an odd thing to see given the current climate.
Oh, and thanks to bad scheduling on my part the Tuesday Marvel comic review got posted yesterday by mistake so no comic review today.
