Apparently this was part of an event called The Muppets Take The O2. In another sketch on Saturday it’s the Fifth Doctor that drops in. This one is in better quality video (though I had to go looking for that one, the above video popped up in recommendations) but outside of a title and Doctor change it’s the same script.

Doctor Who and the Muppets is a combo I never thought about, but I can see that the concept works rather well!

Well, Luke, Chewbacca, Threepio, Artoo, and Luke’s identical cousin Mark Hamill all showed up on Pigs In Space for the Muppet Show. It’s not without precedent.
