I’m still on the mend (I hope to have a proper update later this week) but I couldn’t let the Fourth Of July go past without the usual posting of the Declaration Of Independence. This year we throw in some history courtesy of Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation as they discuss the Broadside, members of the community recite the Declaration, and we learn how one slave freed herself using the document. Enjoy!
I hope you all have a happy and safe Independence Day and remember the ragtag army that came together and gave their lives so we could live in a country free of foreign rule. It may not be perfect but it’s the best thing going.
