Shame we seem have decided to kill that dream by separating ourselves by what crayon we use in the coloring book of the human race again. I always hang on the parts about judging by character and not skin color, but now we see skin color and immediately judge, creating a new form of segregation built on that bitterness and hatred King preached against. If white and black kids join hands you shouldn’t be surprised if they date, marry, and have children, yet we do and rather than support this as proof we can come together biracial kids are told to ignore half of what they are, even when they were conceived by two people who love each other and didn’t care what shade of melanin they had any more than they cared about their hair color or eye color. It’s time to end the race war (which is about fighting the race war, not racism) while still opposing racism for the stupidity it is and embrace race peace, and that something everybody needs to realize regardless of color. King preached against those things that kept the black people down but also wanted unity between all races as God’s children. If you don’t support both you don’t chase the Dream.
Happy Martin Luther King Day. I’m off the soapbox now.
