This remake of Sonic Colors…is a joke I can’t make because I never played it.

Sonic X #25

Archie Comics (December, 2007)

“The Color Sonic”

WRITER; Ian Flynn

PENCILER: Tracy Yardley!

INKER: Terry Austin

COLORIST: Josh Ray

COVER ART: Patrick “Spaz” Spaziante & Ken Hunzeker

LETTERER: John Workman

EDITOR: Mike Pellerito

That “X” group is back, this time using Sonic clones to terrorise the city. However, Doctor Narasu couldn’t get them to come out blue, so it’s just a bunch of single-colored duplicates fooling nobody. Sonic manages to defeat them both with his friends’ help and by leading them to Eggman’s place so he can dispatch with them. Sonic confronts the mad doctor and a clone that’s more accurate color-wise but looks more like the classic game Sonic, which Sonic tricks into destroying the lab and the baddies into destroying the fake Sonic. Meanwhile, Eggman gets ready for his…wrestling event?

What they got right: Sonic acknowledges his friends’ help. The idea of Sonic battling evil duplicates is nothing new but on the surface the method here is decent enough.

What they got wrong: I still have no interest in this “S.O.N.I.C.X.” group.

What I think overall: The plot is fine but the execution doesn’t really do a lot for me.
