You have to be gay to survive being the black person in an interracial relationship on modern Doctor Who. Interspecies relationships, however, are totally allowed.

I’m still disappointed that Thirteen never did anything to try to help Ryan with his dyspaxia (which basically existed for literally his first and final appearances). She has literally the most advanced tech Earth has ever seen, has bent over backwards to assist companions in prior incarnations, but she can’t even muster up an “I could, but I won’t” to a kid who went above and beyond for her on countless occasions? He shouldn’t have to suffer through bike training for the rest of his life after all he’s been through. I realize it’s probably more noble/realistic for things to play out the way they did so certain viewing audiences “feel seen,” but I can’t imagine this going over well if it were, say, the “Voyager” finale.

Plus his grandma died for dating a white man. Not being able to comfort Graham when events caused him to confront the possibility of his cancer returning is also not in like with the Doctor. I’m not really sure what dyspaxia is so I don’t know what she could have done. Maybe gone back to the Multi New Earth hospital and see if they stopped being stupid?
