BW Media Spotlight 
Personally, I think it’s still one heck of a trope, one of few mechanisms in legacy media that truly represents a clear delineation from one era to the next, often bringing with it rich change in almost everything the show does, making it fresh and exciting. Considering the extreme circumstances, the thought that whatever emerges from this “tendering” process will genuinely have to be new, maybe even resolve the Billie Piper cliffhanger in a way that outdoes any fan theory imaginable (if they’re feeling generous; otherwise, Big Finish will no doubt do wonders with her), is the only part of all this I find weirdly tolerable. If anything, it’s the one cornerstone that could make the next era of “Who” more commercially viable than the two “Stars” (Trek and Wars) could manage at the moment.
