At least it gives me art practice.
The archive as I write this dropped everything before #219, has images that don’t belong there, and there are so many comics it makes more sense to break them up by creation year (not calendar year). So I’m in the process of that now. Hopefully it’s done by this time next week, which will be the comic’s anniversary, which I didn’t even realize when I decided it was time to make this fix. Next week will be the usual Best Of in place of the comic, with a programming note for site updates posting the same time here as my usual article for The Clutter Reports.
Speaking of which, this week’s report is unfortunately on a failure, since I’m still trying to get Batman: Vengeance running. I’ve been trying to get this going for twelve years, it turns out, but I have been sick on and off and struggling to get into a creation pattern. Plus I have a plot for this year’s Captain Yuletide to turn into a comic by December 25th, and even for a minicomic in my minimal art style, that takes time. I’d like to get a few more of this year’s declutter goals done by the end of the year if I could.
In addition to all that, we have the next chapter of Star Trek: The IDIC Epidemic for Chapter By Chapter, and hopefully some interesting discussion topics. Have a great week, everyone! Hopefully I don’t have any big distractions.

Will there be any commentary this week about the recently released new Streetfighter movie?

I haven’t seen it. Reviews I’ve seen say that it’s fun but they got a mix of good and bad adaptation moments, and the lame modern humor that kills drama. Overall it sounds okay. When it’s available streaming I’ll probably watch it for a “Finally Watched” article. Still sounds like the anime is better.

Thanks for that sharing of your opinion. I still have to watch the original Street Fighter movie from 1994. I plan to view that film some Saturday this winter online. I also plan to watch the original Mortal Kombat and Super Mario Brothers movies on winter Saturdays.

Do NOT watch the live-action Super Mario Brothers movie if you value your time. I hear the recent animated ones are okay, but they’re on the Finally Watched list. The live-action Street Fighter was okay, though not a good adaptation. Did inspire the US cartoon, which I thought was okay, but the animes are better. the first Mortal Kombat movie I surprisingly liked, but that’s totally not my fighting game of choice.

I know the 1993 Super Mario Brother movie is pretty bad. I want to view it to see how bad it really is. Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat were movies I really wanted to see back in the 1990s but I never got around to actually viewing them in the movie theater. The action in both movies looked really awesome! Plus, Street Fighter was my favorite arcade game in the 1990s. I (a male) usually played the game as Chun Li because I found she was a very skilled fighter. Plus, I want to finally see Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat this winter because any film with Ming Na Wen and Talisa Soto is an added bonus:)
