Okay, now I’m convinced.
I wrote an article a few weeks prior about redhead characters being race-swapped and I saw the start of a trend but wasn’t entirely convinced they were specifically targeting redheads. Replacing Red Sonja, who as Jake notes is names FOR her red hair, being replaced with a black actress has me thinking they may have a point. Sonja is also light-skinned and has a backstory that at least in the movie involved being raped and causing her to have issues with men. I don’t know if that showed up in the novels or comics but I can see where they could go with that. They just had to push a bit too far and that’s why I’m starting to come around to “Hollywood hates redheads” way of thinking.
