Technically it’s a Green Lantern’s constructs and that laser-like beam that is blocked by yellow, due to a necessary impurity…at least until Geoff Johns had another of his “better” ideas. There are easy workarounds with just a bit of thought. This being Hal I’m surprised he even figured this out. Guy wouldn’t have stood a chance.
