I’m still looking for work, but if I can get this credit card paid off or at least paid down I have to try.

Mangual COLLECTION COVER ARTISTS: Guillem March & Tomeu Mowry “HUNTRESS” CREATORS: Paul Levitz, Joe Staton, & Bob LaytonDue to circumstances beyond my control I won’t be able to participate in this week’s Friday Night Fight. The image above, as usual, will take you to this week’s fight once it goes live at 11PM. (Frankly, this week didn’t leave me with a very good choice, but after WINNING last week it’s disappointing to miss this one.) Hopefully what I’m putting together will be worth missing a week. And I like I say every time, forum membership is NOT required to vote and we’re looking for more competitors. There are so few of us right now it’s hardly worth a challenge. If you have a lot of comics and a place to post an entry on Friday nights, even if it’s just Tumblr, check Spacebooger.com on Tuesdays for the rules.

“Combined Forces!” WRITER: Karl Kesel PENCILER: Pat Olliffe INKER: Al Williamson COLORIST: Greg Wright LETTERER: Jim Novak CONSULTING EDITOR Mike Carlin EDITOR: Tom Brevoort GUIDING SPIRIT: Mark GruenwaldI have seen and heard this meme about sempai noticing them that I finally had to know where the thing came from. Since it’s a meme and not a trope, it’s not Trope Shark material. So Know Your Meme (who has sent people to this site thanks to the Hawkeye Initiative articles using a cover scan from one of my reviews) is the source I came up with. Finally, the answer is solved!

“The Greatest Heroes Of All Time!” WRITER: Karl Kesel PENCILER: Pat Olliffe INKER: Al Williamson COLORIST: Greg Wright LETTERER: Jim Novak CONSULTING EDITOR: Mike Carlin EDITOR: Tom Brevoort GUIDING SPIRIT: Mark GruenwaldI would be surprised if nobody has heard of Batkid, a leukemia survivor named Miles Scott whose wish to spend a day as Batman was granted by the Make A Wish Foundation. What started as a simply wish grew to the greatest day in any superhero fan’s life as practically a whole city got involved, turning San Francisco into Gotham City (despite the fact that Gotham is based on New York but that’s splitting hairs), and even the President got involved! (Whatever problems I have with Obama, I congratulate him for that.) Well, prepare to live it again as the tale of would-be Dark Knight will have a documentary movie out soon.
