Marvel Adventures: Super Heroes vol.2 #4
Marvel Comics (September 2010)
WRITER: Paul Tobin PENCILER: Ronan Cliquet INKER: Amilton Santos COLORS: Sotocolor LETTERER: Dave Sharpe COVER: Clayton Henry & Brad Anderson PRODUCTION: Damien Lucchese ASSISTANT EDITOR: Michael Horwitz EDITOR: Nathan Cosby
Cap, Nova, and the Black Widow come across Kraven the Hunter, a bounty hunter looking to capture Wade Wilson. (Apparently you can’t say “pool” in a MA title. 😀 ) The group, later joined by Sue Storm, chase Wilson all over the city while trying to ensure Kraven doesn’t hurt any innocent bystanders in the process. Meanwhile, Vision goes to Tony for dating advice.
What they got right: I like how they worked their way out of saying “Deadpool”, as well as the little continuity touches like Vision seeking Tony’s dating advice (because who would know more than Tony Stark?). Also, you can get a sense that this is tied in to Tobin’s MA Spider-Man run during the Blonde Phantom’s cameo.
What they got wrong: At least this time the character on the cover was actually part of the main story, but this still wasn’t a “Nova” focus story. And the whole Steve/Sue relationship is really getting to me, and when you factor in the way Reed’s been acting in this title, I’m not convinced of this ending right. Finally, when did Kraven join the crimefighters, even if he is as dangerous as Deadpool?
Recommendation: It’s a fun comic that mostly makes me happy. It will make you happy, too.

I would so read a Tobin MA Nova! Someone greenlight this and an MA: Spidey team-up.
