Darkwing Duck #9
BOOM! Studios (February 2011)
WRITER: Ian Brill ARTIST: James Silvani (included cover “a”)COLORIST: Lisa Moore LETTERER: Deron Bennett EDITOR: Christopher Burns COVER “A” COLORIST: Andrew Dalhouse ALTERNATE COVER (SHOWN): Sabrina Alberghetti
A new arc begins as Darkwing is contacted by another old enemy, Steelbeak, when the metal-beaked spy learns that his old bosses at F.O.W.L. have gone one step too far and seeks the masked mallard for help.
What they got right: I wondered what happened to F.O.W.L. and S.H.U.S.H. after the whole Quackwerks thing. Steelbeak is one of my lesser-but-still-favorite characters and it’s good to see he hasn’t changed too much, even if his bosses have gone over the deep-end. Plus, Quiverwing Quack! Now get Fenton back in the Gizmosuit already!
What they got wrong: The bit with the ad man? Didn’t care.
Recommendation: A good start to the new arc since it got the table set. Hopefully it continues to bring a good meal.

I wondered the same about FOWL, especially after what happened to them back in the beginning of the Steerminator episode, when Taurus Bulba was resurrected and nearly destroyed their underground lab.
Can’t wait to pick up this comic.

Not really. I’ve heard of them but while I enjoyed the show I wasn’t into it like I was DW and my budget and comic space are way limited.
