It was announced today that “The Macho Man ” Randy Savage died in a car accident. As my second favorite wrestler (and the only one I could come close to impersonating), I’m going to miss him, although I haven’t seen him in so much as an interview in years. My prayers to his wife, family, and friends.

Tonight’s entry in the Friday Night Fights takes us back to those thrilling days of yesteryear. The time is World War 2. Nazi Germany threatens our very way of life. The government suspects that millionaire Bruce Wayne is in league with them because nobody that squeaky clean could have massed his fortune honestly. (Insert political commentary here.) So our great fighter for freedom, Captain America (fresh from teaming with the Rhino in round 5 of R3), is sent to investigate and…what, Bruce Wayne is Batman you say? They’re from two different companies and never fought together during WW2? They did in this Elseworlds story.

Following Bruce Wayne to discover if he is behind the theft of certain supplies by the Joker, Steve Rogers decides to stop acting as Wayne’s “bodyguard” and start being the body breaker.

Steve must really want Bruce's little black book.

The fight doesn’t last long, however, as they realize the last time they met they had fought side-by-side…and in more colorful costumes.

And thus we make the switch from Marvel to DC in the second half of this tournament. This means I just spoiled who will appear next week. Or did I?
