So there’s no comic strip today and Captain Yuletide will be lucky to be done by the end of the year, especially if I want to reflect my actual questionable art skills as opposed to the quickly drawn mediocrity of the previous issue. (Although the pages I’ve already completed are up on my Patreon for $15 “deluxe comic” tier patrons.) Right now my Mom is in the hospital for the second time this month. On top of that we have people coming to work on the house on Monday so I have some things I need to do in order to keep the clutter out of where they’re working. Along with that I’m trying to find some kind of income before my credit card bill goes to collections and screws up my credit rating more than it already has. Hopefully I can find a job…and fast, or God will grant me a lot of video viewers or Patreon supporters. While I’m still driven to work on this site, possibly out of foolishness considering my small reader and video viewing numbers, I have more important things to deal with right now. I apologize for what this may do to my posting schedule.
Basically, we have a Christmas so bad even I couldn’t find the drive to celebrate properly, and me not celebrating Christmas shows how bad things are. I don’t know how this will affect BW operations so please bear with me. I’m hoping to get a couple of commentaries, a Chapter By Chapter posting, and the next installment of Breaking The Comics Code in before the next Friday Night Fight. Maybe even a BW Chats this Saturday, but my mother and job hunting take a back seat.
As for next week’s bonus old comic reviews (since I still can’t buy new comics and I need to go through all of these anyway, we have a special treat if I can get it done, continuing on the GI Joe Extreme angle of finding comics better than the cartoon it came from. This week we’re looking at…
Yep, the cartoon version of Captain Planet And The Planeteers suffered from weak animation, weaker writing, a blunt object of a pro-environment whose “facts” are debatable, and some good celebrity and underrated voice actors poorly used. Marvel put out a comic tie-in to the series. I own the first seven and this week we’ll see the first five, with the last two next week followed by other comics, thanks to my posting schedule. Is this comic a hero to what was actually not that bad a concept or is it just as bad as the show? Join us all this week to find out.
