Flash Gordon (serial)

I grew up with the Flash Gordon cartoon from Filmation, which was very true to the comic without being a slave to it. That’s because the comic strip is what got the late Lou Schimer into animation. There are two non-comic versions of Alex Raymond’s space hero that most people remember–the serial and the 80 live-action movie that Queen did the theme song for. Inspired by the former, Robb Pratt (you may remember him from the Superman and Bizarro shorts) made a short cartoon celebrating the serials in his own style.

Hopefully I’ll have some footage from Brass City Comic Convention tomorrow or Saturday. I was hoping to have it done yesterday but I couldn’t even make today.
