You’ll see in the noon review why I’m reversing the order here.
Transformers Armada #15
Dreamwave (September, 2003)
“Worlds Collide” part 2 WRITER: Simon Furman PENCILER: Don Figueroa INKER: Elaine To COLORISTS: David Cheung, Espen Grundetjern, Alan Wang, Stuart Ng, Susan Luo, & Rob Ruffolo LETTERER: Paul Villafuerte
Galvatron’s team opens every space portal in the now wrecked (probably by them) Decepticon headquarters. Unaware of the threat they’re heading for, Jetfire selects a team to go investigate. Dirge, Thunderwing, and Scourge (all G1 versions) leave Bludgeon (also G1, none of them Dreamwave’s G1, however, I just want to make that clear–it’s strictly design) behind to guard the portals while they join the hunt for Megatron. Speaking of whom, Megatron has learned of Optimus’s disappearance and launches an assault on Autobase. His troops get their clocks cleaned, leaving Armada Megatron alone with G1ish Galvatron. While this is going on the probe continues searching for Optimus Prime and Over-Run (look, they finally named him in the comic) leads a group of Mini-Cons to reclaim his dimensional travel orbs. And Optimus himself is still trapped on the doomed Cybertron, just as the “devourer of worlds” arrives.
What they got right: Furman actually found a way to have multiple events going and make it work for a change, thanks to the common connection of (you should have guessed by now) Unicron and his forces.
What they got wrong: Megatron repeats himself in the final two panels.
Recommendation: This is a pretty good story so far. Check it out.
