The Movie Monster Game

In the month of May Turner Classic Movies will be doing a monster movie marathon on Thursday nights. Some will be smaller monsters like the Creature From The Black Lagoon and the first movie adaptation of Swamp Thing, but there will also be a lot of giant monsters, both from Japan and the 1950s US movies. Draconic Versus, who will host some of the live tweets under the hashtag #TCMParty, has the full list of what will be airing.

They’re even including The Giant Claw, which features an ugly bird monster (and by ugly I mean the prop–the effects were laughable bad even for 1957) that I swear I had nightmares about long before I even heard of this movie. Serious, I had a few dreams as a kid of this monster movie involving a large, stinky bird creature that captured cars with people still inside them. Weird, right?

It’s too bad that TCM is not showing these movies on a Friday or Saturday night.
