Variety is reporting that Nickelodeon is re-launching their classic kids game show Double Dare. The original, hosted by Mark Summers, featured a mix of trivia questions and messy stunts. It received a family version on Fox’s Sunday lineup for a brief time and this isn’t the first attempt to revive the show. Hopefully this does better than Double Dare 2000. (That was the last attempt.)

By the way, doesn’t Variety have editors? Because this article has typos I wouldn’t make and I don’t have an editor.

Double Dare was a fun show for me to watch on Nickelodeon in the 1980s. There were lots of programs I enjoyed on Nickolodeon back then: that variety/comedy show where people got slimed (can’t remember the name of it), Danger Mouse (a nice British cartoon), City of Gold (an awesome cartoon that was set in Latin America during Spanish colonial times), etc. The City of Gold theme song was very catchy. In fact, I was singing it in the shower just the other night! Ohhhhhh, ohhhhh ohhhh. ohhhhhh..someday we will find the City of Gold!
