Bane has been rather bold during his bank robberies but nobody is reporting seeing him to claim the reward. Batman, Robin, and Batgirl find out why when they find him. Bane chose a poor neighborhood where he has been taking in orphan kids. But is it to build himself into a Robin Hood style legend or is it because of the family he never had? Even the Batman Family isn’t certain.

What they got right: I like the final panel showing the Batcrew contemplating what Bane’s actual motive is. The last contributor is Tim, who suggests the “family he never had” idea and you realize all but one of them is without a family save for each other. And even Barbara, despite still having one of her parents, is part of this family as well.

What they got wrong: I can’t put my finger on it but I’m just not as intrigued by this story as much as I want to be. It’s not even a bad story, or even a bad plot. Just something isn’t connecting with me personally for some reason. I’ve tried coming up with a reason but nothing really sticks.

Recommendation: The story is worth checking out, even if I’m missing something.
