Hey intro, someone finally met George Jetson like you asked!

Scooby-Doo Team-Up #8

DC Comics (March, 2015, as featured in the second volume of the collection on comiXology)

“Future Shocked”

WRITER: Sholy Fisch

ARTIST: Scott Jeralds

COLORIST: Wendy Broome

COVER ART: Dario Brizuela & Franco Riesco

EDITOR: Kristy Quinn

The time machine didn’t send the gang home but to the period of the Jetsons. They meet George and his family but since we’re ignoring The Jetsons Meet The Flintstones (or it hasn’t happened yet–darn time travel) Elroy doesn’t have his time machine so the gang is stuck in the future now. Going out with George on his way to work, where Spacely Sprockets is working on a mysterious project, of course they come across a futuristic specter trying to scare everyone away. The gang eventually solves that mystery and learns the project is identifying an ancient artifact, namely Einstone’s time machine, which finally sends the gang back home.

What they got right: While short there is more mystery here to solve as we get clues to the culprit as well as a suspect in Cogswell. Unlike the previous issue it still shows off the setting but gives a decent mystery for the audience to solve. It’s cute watching Judy making passes at Fred and Daphne getting jealous.

What they got wrong: The mystery is so short that after last issue I wasn’t even expecting it so I missed out on it. And we never learn who the ghost is back in the present. Awwwwww.

Recommendation: An improvement over last issue but still more for a Jetsons fan than someone looking for a mystery.
