Two possible futures: one in which Nog and Matt are getting revenge on Klingons for the deaths of their friends and another where Kamilah is signing a treaty with the Klingons. It all starts when Omega Squadron is on their first space mission, interrupted when a cadre of Klingon cadets commanded by a jerk named Murg decides to cross the neutral zone and attack a Federation runabout for the thrills. The result is both ships crashing to a nearby planet and Zund being hurt. However one of the Klingons, Kovold, had a…close history with Pava.
What they got right: There’s some good action scenes and quick responses by our heroes to the situation. Pava and Kovold’s past in light of current events should be interesting fodder for storytelling.
What they got wrong: I’m worried that they may be peaking a bit too early here. It’s only the fourth issue and once again Omega Squadron is part of some potentially major event, and this time they don’t have the shows to blame. How about a little downtime or just some team building events in a typical day at the academy?
Recommendation: A good start to the story. If it ends strong this would be worth picking up.
