(Yes, this time I have the right title on the strip.)
Throw in design and then actually drawing it, and you get to a half-hour. I read somewhere that the author of that particular novel let her boyfriend come up with the concept. That was her first mistake. I mean I can accept The Vessel as the pilot could be that unimaginative, but when you show your idea of a rock creature is just a rock you kind of fail. This dude, like the monsters I based him on, folds into a rock for hiding or sleeping. There’s still room to play while making him not suck. How “quick” is a living rock that has no limbs? Look up old sci-fi serials and Kurosawa films and you’ll have a better understanding of what your doing. I’ve only seen the former, but if I were hired to write something Star Wars I’d track a few Kurosawa films down.
Meanwhile I ended up wasting time on this week’s Clutter Report since my old art software isn’t liked by Windows 10. You’d think all the complaints about lacking backwards compatibility on Microsoft’s part would have been addressed by now. If you could play old X-Box games on a One-X, you’re sales would go through the roof!
So what’s happening this week? We’re almost done with the Chapter By Chapter review of BattleTech: I Am Jade Falcon as well as the DC comics I have yet to review. Soon I’ll have to dip into the comiXology library and then replace DC with a new series after years of going over my DC library for the Monday comic review. Marvel isn’t that far behind but one series will keep it going for quite a bit longer. I want to look at the Free Comic Book Day offerings and maybe do some other fun stuff. I should be here all week depending on when I can get a 2020 Plague shot and how that affects me. Wish me luck and have a good week!
