The Atom calls the gang in for help. While studying neutrinos, also known as “ghost particles”, the Atom found a ghostly face on a subatomic world. They find the world run by the evil Wizard King, who’s giant face projection sees all. One citizen continues to defy him though and she’s sentenced to death. Velma figures out the ruse and together our heroes foil the King’s plans. The Atom stays behind to clean up but the gang use their shrinking belts to head home…but they’re greeted before returning to full size. (I’m guessing this leads in to the next issue, with Atom Ant. No relation.)
What they got right: At first I thought this would be just another story where the gang just happen to be there but in the final act they prove why they’re there, with Daphne’s plan to trick the King and Velma figuring out how he does it. So evil would have won without the gang there. It’s certainly an interesting adventure for them.
What they got wrong: Wait, the Atom can just make five more belts? How much dwarf star material does he have?
What did I think overall: In the end this was a really good team-up.
