BW Media Spotlight 
In other news from San Diego Comic-Con, the first confirmed voice for the upcoming “Dungeon Crawler Carl” live action TV adaptation on Peacock has been revealed. Jeff Hays, narrator/voice of literally everyone for the DCC audiobooks, will reprise the voice of feline sidekick Princess Donut. In the words of Charlie Brown upon discovering the Little Red-Haired GIrl chewed her pencil: “She’s human!”

I know nothing of the property, so I don’t know why a guy is voice acting a Princess in a live-action production that would have physical actors.

*slowly exhales, hits the “explain DCC lore like I’m 5 in 100 words or less” button* Princess Donut is a prize-winning show cat that belonged to Carl’s ex-girlfriend. In the dungeon, she gains the ability to talk, walk on two legs, and have master ninja-level combat skills. She’s not really royalty; it’s a title she gives herself upon entering the game, MMORPG-character style, and she adds increasingly wild descriptors to it with every succeeding book. Hays portrays her using a “Monty Python drag” voice. Nutshell: voice of Rarity from “My Little Pony,” temperament and destructiveness of the Tasmanian Devil from “Looney Tunes.” Some parts of the franchise are notoriously clunky (by design or happenstance, you be the judge), but Donut is, um, perfectly imperfect in ways that make her the most endearing thing you’ll ever see/read/hear.
I imagine a lot of the show will be just live-action Carl interacting with animated Donut and other dungeon denizens; I hope practical makeup and effects will be in the equation, too, but I’m not holding my breath. Incidentally, Seth Green has expressed a desire to play Mordecai, a somewhat depressed guide/walking exposition dump who I tend to read as “Yoda with Ben Stein’s voice.” Not nearly as funny as Donut, but nice to visit with after so many pages of exploring/combat.
