Like I often say: control the origin, control the world.
I looked up why David Bowie dropped the androgenous persona that Gerwig is basing Aslan on, Ziggy Stardust. Using Quora as its source, Google stated “David Bowie stopped playing Ziggy Stardust because the heavy psychological toll of the alter ego started blending with his real personality and threatening his mental health”. Apparently he was also worried that if people got tired of the bisexual space messiah his career would die, so he dropped it and started doing music as himself. So there are reasons he dropped the persona, and apparently Miss Rock N’ Roll missed that information.
Something else I say a lot: not every creative is right for every project just because they got one right. John Hughes’ Nightmare On Elm Street would have been hilarious for me, not so much the fans who would probably say the same thing about Wes Craven’s Sixteen Candles.
