The only thing interesting about the behind-the-scenes are the fact that I used texture to give Jake a carpet, and Kool-Aid Man. The art was done in a deep shading pencil I have from the old days. I got the idea from Jerzy Drozd, actually. In one of his podcasts he mentioned that he didn’t like to ink for the longest time, instead just darkening with the pencil. I figured I could use an old deep shade drafting pencil so it looked like Jake was in the pencil stage, yet still match up well with the inked “real world” art. So Kool-Aid Man is pure scanned pencil.
