Chapter By Chapter> Star Wars: Shadows Of The Empire final chapter!

Adding something in here, because they just released the title of the next Abrams wing of the Star Wars Universe. “Episode 8” will be called The Last Jedi. I prefer the EU idea where Luke has already rebuilt the Jedi order, hopefully bypassing some of their mistakes in the process. Well, since he was married back then I guess he already did. Just thought it should be mentioned. Carry on.

Chapter by Chapter features me reading one chapter of the selected book at the time and reviewing it as if I were reviewing an episode of a TV show or an issue of a comic. There will be spoilers if you haven’t read to the point I have, and if you’ve read further I ask that you don’t spoil anything further into the book. Think of it as read-along book club.

Chapter By Chapter Star Wars - Shadows Of The Empire

Here we are, the last chapter, and epilogue, of Star Wars: Shadows Of The Empire! I started this when The Force Awakens (which I’m STILL writing as The Force Unleashed, which was a video game I haven’t played) was in theaters, and thanks to…well, you know by now…not only have I still not seen it, but I’m finishing it when Rogue One is in theaters, which I also have yet to see. (I’m still not catching the last member of our triumvirate to see when we can get together to go, before a certain someone asks.) And the next book is also sci-fi but not tying-in to another property. But we’ll get to that in February.

When last we saw our intrepid band they were trying to escape a collapsing fortress. They got away, but now they have to get out of enemy territory despite at least three of them being on the Most Wanted list. Will they succeed? Well, duh, this takes place between movies.

A cliffhanger is a good way to make people come back for another season. Unless the network cancels it for being too expensive, a successful campaign against it, or just never found an audience. Coming Soon has a list of thirty such unresolved cliffhangers.

Jake & Leon #303: Webcomic: The Comic

I've been doing this comic for years without merchandise. Or readers.

I’ve been doing this comic for years without merchandise. Or readers.

Hey, Leon’s taking down the Christmas decorations finally. Me, too. I also had a bathroom to clean. It’s in this week’s Clutter Report.

Endings and beginnings for this week’s comic reviews. The last volume (or at least the last one I have) of Mobile Suit Gundam Wing is up. I’m also leaving G1 to our alternate reality for now, as we look into IDW’s Beast Wars miniseries, featuring some of the toys that didn’t make it to the TV show. Spider-Man Unlimited, a tie-in to the last Fox Kids version, takes over for the Adventures Of titles.  Masters Of The Universe gets a Halloween one-shot for the re-imagined series before we get to volume three, the ongoing. Thundercats…gets to The Return, so expect tears of pain. But the big news is Mr. T’s first comic is getting reviewed! Sadly I only have two issues of Mr. T And The T-Force but at least I have those.

I’m also hoping to get the video review done finally, as well as review that second movie. It involves monsters. And robots. No robot monsters I think; I still haven’t watched it. I’m just trying to make a decent paragraph here. So let’s hope things work out as planned. For a change.

Saturday Night Showcase: Masters Of The Universe movie review

This WAS going to be the actual movie. Paramount has a YouTube page that had some of their acquired movies, including stuff from Canon, for free with advertisements. However, they’ve moved it to YouTube’s seldom-promoted rental section. It’s not that I have a problem paying $2.99 for the rental, although I’d rather get the whole movie (partly so I can do a proper review) and I still have no income, but that I obviously can’t embed it here. At least I don’t think I can, but I’m not making you pay to see it here. Here’s the link if you want to watch it though, since I support the official release when it exists. I’m sure it’s out at least on DVD as well.

So consider this the consolation prize. One of my fellow Reviewers Unknown refugees and friend, Suzie McGinney…sorry, Suzie Beyor now since she was recently married, did a review in years past of Masters Of The Universe, the 1987 live-action adaptation of the toy and cartoon. It should still push a few nostalgia buttons for you, so at least I can bring you something. There’s some swearing near the end though.
