A long time ago I did a review of Marvel’s adaptation of the first RoboCop movie. (You can click the image above for that.) Well, Shawn Robare of Branded In The 80s took a look at the novelization. And like the Total Recall adaptation I did for Chapter By Chapter there were a few alterations to what we saw in theaters.
Last chapter was all Luke as he barely escaped another assassination attempt, this time by the Star Wars equivalent of a biker gang, with a little help from Dash Rendar. This one returns to the Vader/Xizor rivalry. Let’s see how that’s going.

Sad news came to fans of Adventures Of Superman and the old Superman movie serials. Noel Neil, who played Lois in the serials and second season onward of the TV show, passed away on Sunday. Say a prayer for her family and friends.
Usually on this day I try to find a new reading of the Declaration Of Independence to remind my fellow Americans what it is we are celebrating and not just fireworks and hot dogs. However, I came across this interesting video challenging the notion that the 4th Of July is when the signing took place. So why do we celebrate it then? The YouTube series Today I Found Out tells the tale.
An interesting post dropped in on Tumblr, which I re-blogged to The Tronix Tumblr. I’m using that link because the usual format for Tumblr themes made it harder to read. It starts when someone takes the above scene from Disney’s Frozen (seen above and taken from the post) and has other Disney princesses give him the dirty look, only for other Disney fans to correct the original post. It’s an interesting reminder that we don’t always realize how time passes in a movie versus the runtime.
Maybe he should try watching them all the way through.
We know what Jake was doing. Next week, what Leon was doing. So I have a week to figure out what Leon was doing.
I’m kind of on the run as I write this. Chapter By Chapter will be delayed until Tuesday due to my annual Declaration Of Independence reading post, if I can find a good one. And next weekend is ConnectiCon! I can only make one day but after what I’ve gone through this year, and what’s coming, I’ll take what joys I can get. Will work to have stuff up for the week, as well as next week’s Jake & Leon since I didn’t hand many business cards last year and thus don’t have to make a new back of one-panel gag comics for the backs, but if I miss Saturday Night Showcase you’ll know why. And now gotta run. I hope you have a happy and save Independence Day weekend!
It’s the last panel from 2015’s ConnectiCon, which would have been up sooner but…well, you know by now. The three panelists in this panel discuss the women who have created Marvel Comics as well as some of the female population of the Marvel Universe.
