Not that ninjas from space isn't cool, but it's not their origin.

This is something that Michael Bay actually said when promoting his Ninja Turtles movie. The second panel is the fan reaction, obviously. The female Turtle is Venus, Saban’s addition in Ninja Turtles: The Next Mutation. Fans don’t like her. TMNT co-creator Peter Laird, in defending Bay (while admitting he wasn’t happy with the change) still declared Venus a worse idea because he never liked the fifth turtle idea. After reading his comments, I kind of understand why he thinks that but I disagree, if only because I’m so tired of Hollywood changing everything about a license lately that any major deviation gets to me.

So last week we trained at another branch with our business’ new owners. So I will get paid this week, and with plenty of hours that I will have a decent paycheck this week. That means I should be able to pick up some comics next weekend. However, I still haven’t been able to get any new comics, so next week we will conclude the Top Cow run of Battle of the Planets with the “Princess” miniseries. I want to try and get some new articles this week, including another Free Comic Inside and with luck finally put together a Furman Files article, but no promises on that one.

  • The Clutter Reports: I thought organizing my art model drawer was going to be as much work as the other drawers I’ve done. Turned out to be rather easy.
  • Reviewers Unknown: The second part of the Captains Marvel articles from two weeks ago as I go over the history of Marvel’s Captain Marvel and Ms. Marvel taking over the name just to stick it to DC. She doesn’t need the name change and nobody cares about the Marvel Comics version anyway.
  • Springtime for Fuchsia: The other cameo I did before getting the new camera was for a review of the Disney live-action classic Bedknobs & Broomsticks (you know, the one where Angela Landsbury plays a witch and raises kids while fighting Nazis), along with a few other reviewers around the internet. Our bit comes at the end of the review as is part of the recurring storyline–which apparently involves a green ball of…something.

Again, no Best Scene and none next week. Hopefully the new reviews and Best Scenes will return soon.
