Reading Excellence and Discovery Foundation

I know I used an article from Cracked yesterday but when I saw this one I wanted to get it out. I remember my high school English teacher and I didn’t see eye to eye when it came to reading material. She didn’t look at what I liked to read and try to choose something similar. For example, I like science fiction, but never considered the works of Jules Verne or HG Wells. The only reason she let me read Planet Of The Apes for a report is because the original book tuned out to be preachy, pretentious, and very, very boring. That’s where Christina H’s article comes in as she lists how high school teachers are actually destroying a love of reading rather than creating it.
