I try to take some time each year to see some of the amazing Christmas displays, from home lighting setups to productions made to be shown on the side of a building. They’re some of the coolest things to see at Christmas. And it seems even these are coming under attack. Look, I’m against a large and tacky display but I’ve heard tales of people moving into a neighborhood they knew had a large light display and complain when it happened. You may have a point about the traffic these draw in at times, even the ones who set the display up for charity, but (and it could just be the way these were reported) outside Christmas displays are hardly anything new, even if not everybody has the right mindset when they set them up. I’m not asking people to shut up, I’m asking neighbors and the display people to work something out. I’ve also seen whole neighborhoods lit up, as seen in past articles.
With that let’s hit the internet and see what cool lights people around the US and possibly around the world are doing to make their outdoors as festive as their indoors. I mean, hopefully they’re decorating inside the house too, but nobody ever shows those.
I wish this first one had more Christmas music and less pop hits, but it’s still a good start.
This next one ends on a song from Moana for some reason but I like the rest of it.
Here’s one that’s all Christmas music, except for the brief intro to the show.
I like to end off with some projection videos, so here’s one with some movie footage on a house.
And our final video, coming from Disneyland Tokyo. Which is interesting considering how few Christians there are in Tokyo. They add in pyrotechnics, but frankly I’ve seen better uses of the building than just a projection screen. Still, it’s pretty cool and there are times they do properly play with the shape of the castle.
So did any of you stumble on some amazing Christmas display videos? Post them in the comments because we’d all love to see them!
