Parnell tests out the addition to the fake War Machine armor on the Air Force. Meanwhile, Rhodey has brought Parnell’s wife to find out if it is indeed him in the War Machine armor. As all this goes on Tony begins working on the project for Baintronics, but Sunset tries to distract him when he begins to recognize the code as belonging to Jocasta. Tony manages to make contact with Jocasta, who helps him escape and call for Iron Man. Iron Man returns for Jocasta but is met with the fake War Machine. As they fight Sunset manages to link with Jocasta and target Iron Man with weapons, even though not-War Machine is also in the line of fire!
What they got right: We get a decent history with Tony and Sunset as we learn why he hasn’t been comfortable around her. The two storylines with Sunset Bain and the fake War Machine as well as Rhodey’s adventures finally come together. We also see more of Carol’s continuing belief that she can beat alcoholism herself, with Tony not so sure.
What they got wrong: I’m sorry, but this is really the look we’re going for with not-War Machine’s addition? It’s like he’s wearing the Hulkbuster armor but black and with guns for hands. It’s not nearly as cool as it sounds and just doesn’t look very good. This is also where the Jocasta reveal should have been.
Recommendation: The storyline is still really good. Worth checking out, with hopes the conclusion will be worth it.
