Strange events on the moon is causing a huge issue with the tides on Earth. The Justice League learns there’s a baby alien inside that will soon hatch. The League opts to make a moon-like body to balance out the problems on Earth until it hatches but the Weather Wizard manages to get aboard the artificial moon preparing to cause trouble until the baby, drawn by the Justice League’s new monitoring and alert system, foils his plans. Now hatched, the baby flies off into space to find its own kind or whatever it is he’s looking for.

What they got right: The art is good. I do like the design of the baby monster and the characters match the show.

What they got wrong: Too bad the story doesn’t. How did Weather Wizard manage to sneak onto a fake moon without the Justice League knowing about it? The DCAU version doesn’t have access to a spaceship for starters. As far as the “moon is an egg” plot, I’ve seen that so often in stories dating at least back to the G1 Transformers cartoon, if not earlier, that it isn’t very interesting anymore and would be odd in an DCAU show, never mind the one targeted to an somewhat older audience.

Recommendation: I like the art but the story really isn’t worth tracking down.
