You may be wondering what a jazz legend is doing here considering how little I know about jazz musicians. (I do enjoy smooth jazz from time to time, including when I’m writing stuff or relaxing, but I know little about jazz beyond that.) Jack Sheldon is a bit special though as his works included being one of the singers for a big part of my Saturday morning childhood, Schoolhouse Rock. (He’s Bill in the above video.) So that’s another piece of my childhood gone.

Rest in peace, Jack Sheldon. Schoolhouse Rock is an excellent collection of fine, educational short cartoon selections. Some other memorable segments were Conjunction Function, The Great American Melting Pot, and the one about how women got the right to vote.
