J’onn alone among the Justice League members has avoided being taken over by Starro. As he runs and tries to think of a way to stop Starro he has memories of the time he was separated from his family when a terrible windstorm forced them to flee to a nearby cave. Not wanting to lose another family, J’onn instead uses one of Starro’s spawn to connect himself to Starro’s mental network and free the Justice League, defeating Starro in the process.
What they got right: It is interesting to see a tale from J’onn’s days on Mars. It’s a good exploration of J’onn’s character as well.
What they got wrong: I like this comic but there are problems. Don’t confuse the lengths of these sections to think it’s a bad story because it’s not. However, isn’t Starro supposed to be dead in the DCAU tie-ins? Is it a different Starro? Forget messing up the cartoon continuity, now it’s not following it’s own. And why so much focus lately on J’onn in this series?
Recommendation: Another good outing that’s worth checking out.
