Metamorpho has teamwork issues, thinking he can handle anything on his own and not wanting to bother anybody else when there’s trouble. However, this turns into a problem when the Matter Master gets the drop on him. Lucky the Atom tagged along, who summons the League to help stop him and shows Metamorpho that teamwork isn’t so bad.
What they got right: While Metamorpho does seem to have a bit of a ego what really drives him in the story is an independent streak, not really wanting to bother anyone with something he can do himself. I can relate and 2016 pretty much did for me what Matter Master did for Metamorpho. So it’s possible that I connect to this story based on more personal reasons but it’s nice to see his teamwork issues are not just simply the same as B’Wanna Beast’s a few issues ago. It’s not superiority, just not wanting to bother anyone he has to learn it’s okay to ask for help and work with others.
What they got wrong: I’m trying to figure out when Atom was able to hitch a ride on Metamorpho. Did he really hang around all night in small size without Rex knowing he was there?
Recommendation: Like I said, this story speaks to me a bit more personally but I still think it’s a good story to check out.
